I don't know who you are, or what this blog is for, but I have to make a comment. I think it's so cool you wrote about Annie Beaton on Halloween! I live in Orwell, which is like 2 minutes from Lyndale. I am well acquainted with the story of Anne Beaton. In fact, her family once lived in the house nextdoor to mine, so they say. I even did a project about local legends for History in grade 12. I learned a lot from my neighbours and friends. At my elementary school, Vernon River, some of the kids talked about the Hollow. I've been there once or twice, at least, I think I was. I don't know exactly where the hollow is, only approximately. It's said that Sir Andrew MacPhail himself and his classmates were among those who had to touch Anne's body, which was laid out in Orwell School. We have quite a few haunted places in our area; the MacPhail Homestead, a haunted stream and settler graveyard in Kinross, a few of the buildings in Orwell Corner, and even Uigg Hall. If you want to know of any other stories from the area, you're welcome to e-mail me.
